Shadow of Night | Book Review

Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy Book #2)

By Deborah Harkness

5/5

I had been looking for something immersive and this series has really done the trick. While the switch to the Elizabethian past took a moment to get used to, once adjusted, it made me realize just how much I love historical fiction. Matthew and Diana's relationship and storyline deepens and draws the readers in like a finely woven tapestry.

Series Background:

Diana Bishop is a witch who denied her powers for most of her life. Now a historian, a mysterious manuscript crosses her path that attracts the interest of all sorts of witches, daemons, and vampires…including Matthew de Clairmont. The calling of the manuscript sets them on a wild goose chase for more information as this book and its missing pages could be the explanation for the creation of creatures—and possibly their destruction.
