Toil & Trouble: 15 Tales of Women & Witchcraft

Don't let the fun, witchy cover fool you. Toil & Trouble is full of tales about young women empowering themselves. And while, I would classify it more as magic than witchcraft (I believe in the tenant 'do no harm' and this books clearly has revenge as a main theme), it definitely is a great read full of sexual and cultural diversity. I'd say I enjoyed most of these stories, there were a couple I didn't like, but they weren't bad stories. They just didn't vibe with me. Do note, there are themes of abuse and sexual violence. They are implied and not explicit. So the book is a little darker than the cover would lead one to believe. Overall, I'd recommend this book any time of the year!
