Interactive Notebooks In Your Middle School ELA Classroom

This year I am trying out interactive notebooks in my language arts classroom. I got the idea from a team of science teachers at my school. It's still a work in progress, but these are the benefits I've come across so far: 1. It helps students synthesize information through the use of color-coding. 2. It helps reach kinesthetic and visual learners, as well as auditory learners through the direct instruction for each lesson. 3. It helps reduce clutter and helps students learn the fine art of organized note-taking. Stay tuned for further updates as I continue to learn the most (and least) effective ways of using this tool in my 6th grade classroom!
