Self-Publishing: Formatting Woes

Self-publishing is hard work! Sometimes it feels like I work 2 full-time jobs. Lately, I've been spending hours formatting my novels when I upload them to CreateSpace--and by hours I mean like 10 hours. It seems kind of ridiculous. What platform do you use for self-publishing? Do you outsource your formatting or use a different type of software? I'd love to know!
